The NYSALJA Executive Committee has proposed increasing the Annual Dues from $45.00 to $50.00. This modest increase will benefit the Association in two ways:
- It will place the NYS Affiliate on more stable financial footing.
- It will bring the New York State Affiliate into line with the National Association’s membership fee (which is $50.00), which will streamline our bookkeeping responsibilities, currently performed by our (volunteer) Treasurer.
If approved, this dues increase will become effective at the beginning of the new fiscal year, July 1, 2010.
NYSALJA Bylaws require a majority vote of the active membership to change the Annual Membership Fee.
NAALJ offers two $500 scholarships to assist NAALJ members to attend a one-week resident course at the National Judicial College (NJC) in Reno, Nevada. The scholarship can also be used this year for the Administrative Law: Advanced course scheduled in Wilmington, Delaware from June 13-17, 2010. The deadline for applications is April 15, 2010.
Full details about the scholarship can be found at http://data.memberclicks.com/site/naalj/NAALJ_Scholarships.pdf.
